How do you keep a long-term relationship alive?
I was a little shocked over the past few weeks to hear that several of my coachees and their partners have agreed to go their separate ways once the children leave home. Somehow they lost each other over time.
It’s scary how easily the noise of everyday life – kids, work, pandemics – can disconnect us from our life partners.
How can we cut through the fog of activity and preserve that delicate thread of physical / intellectual / emotional intimacy?
For Paula and I that involves carving out a few precious minutes of alone time every day to chat and have a laugh. For us it doesn’t have to be deep and meaningful. Just regular.
What have you learned about keeping a long-term relationship going?
Have a great week everybody.
